Our Bees
How We Care for Our Bees
At Bucksbury Farm, we take extensive measures to ensure the health and well-being of our bees. Our bees collect pollen and nectar from the diverse range of flora in our ancient woodland, which provides a rich and varied diet.
We practice sustainable beekeeping, avoiding harmful pesticides and ensuring that our bees have a safe and thriving habitat.
The Process of Honey Production
Our honey production process begins with our bees collecting nectar from the flowers in our ancient woodland. This nectar is then brought back to the hive, where the bees convert it into honey through a natural enzymatic process.
Once the honey is ready, we harvest it carefully to ensure we do not disrupt the hive. The honey is then filtered and packaged, preserving its natural flavours and health benefits.
Benefits of Ancient Woodland Honey
The honey produced by our bees at Bucksbury Farm is unique due to the diverse flora of our ancient woodland. This gives our honey a rich and complex flavour profile that you won't find in commercially produced honey.
Additionally, ancient woodland honey contains a variety of beneficial compounds, including antioxidants and antimicrobial agents, which contribute to overall health and well-being.
